We've arrived in February, a month which brings attention to Black History Month as well as American Heart Month. February will also bring the launch of the changes we first announced last June with respect to the enhanced standards underlying the RYS 200 credential, the strengthened application and review process, and the ethical commitment for all members.

2月に突入し黒人歴史月間（Black histrory month） とアメリカンハート月間（American heart month） に目を向ける時期となりました。また2月という月に昨年の6月に発表された（RYS）登録ヨガスクール200資格の改良重視とメンバー皆さまへの申し込みレビュープロセスの強化と論理的貢献の変更が開始いたします。

A special newsletter will be sent out later this month with specific details on the launch components. We look forward to continuing to support you—our member—as you provide high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga to the communities you serve.

・The New RYS Application System 新RYS申し込みシステム

At the end of February, we will launch our enhanced application process, which was created based on the feedback we received via the Standards Review Project and designed to uphold integrity, equity, and shared accountability across our global community. Applicants will be required to submit more in-depth detail about their yoga teacher training programs, including but not limited to: school policies, manuals, assessment methods, and more. ・The Member Ethical Commitment メンバーによる倫理的貢献

Also at the end of this month, all Yoga Alliance members—renewing or new—will share a commitment to ethics befitting a yoga teacher, unifying the membership around these shared principles. This commitment is in response to the clear call heard from our membership and the broader yoga community asking for greater clarity on how to safely welcome and support all who wish to practice yoga. This commitment will include an updated Code of Conduct, a new Scope of Practice, and a shared responsibility for awareness of inequities in yoga and how they can result in exclusion and under-representation—all of which will help us, collectively, build spaces and communities that unite. 

今月末にはヨガアライアンスメンバー全員（新規、更新のメンバー様共に）にヨガ講師のための論理的貢献とその他の規則を結束を図るために共有します。この貢献はメンバー様と広範囲のヨガコミュニティによるヨガプラクティス志望者を安全に受け入れるための具体的な体制の要望に対応し実現が可能となりました。更新されたルール事項、新しい実践の範囲とメンバー様が共有するヨガの公平性を認識する責任、不公平性により生み出される疎外感と過小評価への理解を深め、グループとしてコミュニティ集結の実現に 貢献します。

Member FAQ: “When do I need to up-level my RYS 200 to meet the new standards?”

“新スタンダードの基準を満たすにはRYS200をいつ更新すれば良いですか？“

For schools that are not yet RYS 200s, they must apply under the new standards beginning February 25. However, as a current RYS 200, you have one year from your next renewal date to up-level to the enhanced standards underlying the RYS 200 credential. In other words, at your next renewal date, you may either renew under the current standards for one more year, or you may choose to up-level to the new standards. You can see how this might play out via our RYS 200 decision tree diagram. Current RYS 300, RYS 500, RCYS, and RPYS are not affected. ・Evolution of Yoga Summit ヨガサミット革命

Register now for the Evolution of Yoga Summit taking place this spring! Yoga Alliance is proud to be the presenting partner of this multi-faceted event hosted by Accessible Yoga and the Yoga Service Council, which offers an in-depth look at cultural appropriation, racism, consent, and accessibility in yoga. The summit will take place March 20-22 at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. We hope to see you there!

・National Kids Yoga Conference ナショナル キッズ ヨガ会議

Yoga Alliance is also proud to be a partner of the upcoming National Kids Yoga Conference. This conference takes place April 17-19 in Alexandria, VA, and will cover research, teaching techniques, best practices, and thought leadership.
